It all started in 2004, (well several decades earlier if you take into consideration that My Biggy Nanna taught me to knit & crochet when i was 7 or 8!!) we were living in a small fishing villiage on the East Coast of Australia, our house was located on a sand spit between the Wooli River and the Pacific Ocean. It was a truley beautiful place. The fishing was good, the beer was cold, the Locals were friendly and the wind seemed to always be blowing...It was humble, it was simple...very much my style.
When the big Tsunami struck, it made me think...ALOT! My friends thought I'd finally tripped out, they laughed like crazy and had a ball paying out on my socalled "ïnsane paranoia" As leaving the villiage was not possible then, I turned to crocheting to sooth my jangled nerves. (I have seizures...stress is BAD!)
My Biggy Nanna had passed on in the year prior, it was like I could hear her voice telling me C'mon...you can do this! I went to the kitchen and got a terry tea towell, cut it in half, found a 2.5mm hook, a ball of Pelicano cotton and away I went!! The following Christmas all the family got crochet tea towells.
Since then...I have come along way, I love knitting socks, hats, gloves and most things that dont take more than 2 skeins to knock up.
If its handspun, hand dyed, hand made or hand anything at all...im there!
